Unleashing Jaws of Anger.
Your savage ego
Feeds upon our silence;
Your flared up nostrils
Breathe fire-
You want us to quiver and shiver
Under your hand-
You turn the crimson of the sun
In the black of the burnt leaf.
While you smile with benevolence
Impressing the gentlemen with your grace-
You turn towards us with red eyes
When you fumble with your words.
While your bloody jaws remain hidden
Under that veil of calmness-
Your hands reveal
The beast-
I can see your dirty fingernails
Colored in my blood, tears and fears.
While you pull my hair
Exhibiting your power-
I resolve to never shed tears.
I recite Maya Angelou to myself-
I rise, I rise, I rise.
Your hands are now dyed in my blood
While my eyes mock your pride.
My head hurts
My spirit doesn't.
Your ego shall crumble one day-
I will rise:
And eclipse the sun of your power.
